My impression of this dish has been unduly influenced by the Loco Moco which I have enjoyed in Hawaii. For me, PK's recipe just didn't have the unctuousness of the real thing. PK's recipe seemed too watery, probably due to the riced-cauliflower used to substitute for the original's rice. I had actually been looking forward to seeing how the riced-cauliflower would work as substitute for Japanese rice.
Also, I found that the sauce was not very interesting to my palate. I would like to make it clear that I am sure others will find this an outstanding meal for them.
