The flavors were good in this pasta but after cooking it for the necessary time, our dish was still frozen in the middle.
I'm in marathon training and have been using Eat Local's meals to fuel with tasty options. This was SO good. I love the crunchy pine nuts and the chewy gnocchi. Hit the spot for sure.
Would be improved if gnocchi was less dense and pesto sauce more flavorful.
This dish has way more kale in it than in the photo! They must’ve picked the pieces of Gnocchi out and placed them on top of the kale sauce for the photo. The sauce itself was very chunky and dry; did not seem blended but rather just whirled in a food processor without enough liquid to emulsify the sauce. It could really stand a bit of oil, salt, and nooch! But if you add all those and some fresh ground black pepper, it is very good!
This was very difficult to eat. It turned into a dry mass in my mouth, similar to eating a piece of bread with no water. The flavor was mild. I'm not a big fan of kale and it didn't offend me. I had to drink a LOT of water with this meal. Maybe this needed a cream sauce instead of a pesto.
The dish is subtle, but flavorful. It's very filling.
The chard and hazelnut pearl is really inventive and very tasty.
